Your Pet's Surgery and Hospitalization

Surgery Your pet's safety and comfort are our highest priorities during all surgical procedures. Whether your pet needs a routine spay or neuter procedure or requires a more complex surgery, we can help. For more complex surgical cases, we may refer you to a local board-certified veterinary surgeon.

Your Pet's Surgery

We strive to make surgery as stress-free and comfortable as possible for you and your pet. Prior to surgery, your pet receives a complete physical exam; this exam helps us create an anesthesia protocol that's unique to your pet.

Monongahela Animal Hospital uses modern anesthetic technology (including sevoflo anesthesia) to keep your pet comfortable and pain-free during all surgical procedures. During surgery, all pets requiring anesthesia are closely monitored by a staff member and a pulse oximeter.

Pain Management And Your Pet

Pain management is an important part of our surgical protocol. The less pain your pet experiences during and after surgery, the faster he or she recovers. Your pet receives pain management medication before, during and following surgery. Additional pain medication may be sent home with your pet. Whatever the situation, we want to provide your pet with a painless and stress-free experience.

Hospital Care

If your beloved pet becomes ill, you can always count on us. We provide your pet with complete medical services and the very best hospital care. For pets that need it, we administer intravenous fluids (using an IV pump), nutritional support and provide in-hospital monitoring.

In order to provide you and your pet with an accurate and speedy diagnosis in a low-stress setting, we have invested heavily in cutting-edge equipment, technology and maintaining a well-educated staff. We also believe that educating you regarding your pet's condition and treatment options results in better overall care for your pet.
