Pet Diagnostic Services in Monongahela, PA

Radiology

Monongahela veterinariansWe have recently purchased a new, state-of-the-art, digital radiology machine. Compared to x-rays produced by a traditional machine, the quality of digital radiographs is much better.

Radiology, the most common form of imaging, allows us to view the shape, size, and location of organs inside your pet's body. Radiographs are extremely helpful for diagnosing and monitoring many medical and surgical conditions. They are useful in examining your pet's bones, lungs, heart, abdomen, oral cavity and other areas of the body. An x-ray can detect a fractured bone, cancerous tumor, heart problem and locate an obstruction or foreign body in your pet's stomach or intestine. We also are able to perform various types of contrast studies as well as X-rays for the diagnosis of hip dysplasia. Should your pet be referred to a veterinary specialist, we can send his or her x-rays to the specialist for you.

Laboratory testing plays an integral role in the early detection of changes in your pet's health. Diagnostic tests provide essential information by which our veterinarians can identify blood disorders, kidney and liver disease, diabetes, infection, cancer, thyroid disease and other hormonal problems.

Having an elaborate, in-house laboratory enables us to arrive at a more rapid diagnosis for your pet during an emergency or when time is of the essence. Our modern in-house diagnostic technology allows animals to receive appropriate treatment within minutes after arriving at the hospital.
