Veterinarians

A native of the Mon Valley, Dr. Lisa Lusk was excited to get the chance to come "home" and open the Monongahela Animal Hospital in June of 1996. Dr. Lusk attended Penn State University and graduated in 1988 with a B.S. in Dairy Production. Following college graduation. She was admitted to the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and graduation in 1992.

Dr. Lusk with the help of her husband Donnie (a local plumbing contractor) opened the new hospital in 2001. They believe that the new facility allows them to better serve their clients and their pets. Dr. Lusk is a general practitioner with an interest in surgery.

Dr. Lusk and her husband are parents to three children, Caleb, Levi and Grace. They all live with a black cat named Olive and Gertie, a Shih Tzu.

Dr. Tara Yorty has practiced medicine since 2003. A native of Greensburg, PA, Dr. Yorty came to Monongahela Animal Hospital as a general practitioner in 2007.

Dr. Yorty attended the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg and received a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. At the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Yorty was on the dean's list each semester and was a member of the Biology Honor Society and the Golden Key National Honor Society. She went on to attend Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. Dr. Yorty's professional interests include surgery, ultrasound and internal medicine.

Dr. Yorty and her husband, Brandon, enjoy kayaking, biking, skiing and gardening. They have a daughter named Hannah and are expecting a second child soon. Their family also includes cats Nemo and Dory, a dog named Caesar and Rainbow Dash, a Beta fish.
